Be a Good Neighbour (yearly and one time donations)

Thank you for considering an annual donation. This is a great way to support our neighbours in need. Let us know if you would like to designate your donation to a specific House of Friendship program, event or project.  Undesignated gifts are applied to the general operating fund and used where most needed.

Example: Your gift of $60 will bring a night’s shelter to a man experiencing homelessness

Charitable tax receipts are provided to all eligible donations of any amount.

Become a G.E.M. (Giving Every Month)

Some donors prefer to donate monthly to make their giving more manageable.  This convenient way of giving also helps reduce administrative overhead (one charitable tax receipt at the end of the year), uses less paper (automated giving), and provides steady support throughout the year (so we can better plan and budget).

Example: For a monthly donation of $20 you will cover the cost of preparing a food hamper each month for a family in need

These GEMs give monthly on-line via CanadaHelps or arrange pre-authorized monthly donations by credit card or automatic debit from their bank account by contacting Shelley Holmes, Stewardship Officer, at 519-742-8327 x 131 or ShelleyH@houseoffriendship.org

Honour and Remember Your Loved Ones

Remember the loss of someone special to you by making a gift in their memory. This meaningful gift will bring comfort to you, loved ones, and families in need.

Or celebrate special occasions with gifts in the name of the honouree(s). Perfect for any occasion – birthdays, retirements, weddings, faith events, anniversaries, graduations – these gifts will delight you and recipients, and be helpful to families in need:

Example: $20 will cover the cost of preparing a food hamper to a family in need; $80 will provide a day/night of shelter, food and hope to a man experiencing homelessness, and $140 will repair a major appliance of a family living on low-income.

Once your gift has been made, we will send a card with a beautiful acknowledgement to the next of kin or honouree(s) of your thoughtful gift. If you do not wish us to send a card, please indicate in the on-line instructions or contact Shelley Holmes, Stewardship Officer at 519-742-8327 x 131 or ShelleyH@houseoffriendship.org

Invest in Your Neighbours with Mutual Shares/Securities

Other supporters of House of Friendship’s mission of service have chosen to donate mutual fund shares/securities, enabling them to have an immediate significant impact. And since the capital gains tax does not apply, this is a very efficient way of giving.  To donate shares/securities, please have a TD Waterhouse Charitable Donations in Kind form completed and sent to the TD representative, and complete a Letter of Authorization to Donate Securities 2016 Form and forward to Jackie Keller, Finance Director, House of Friendship: JackieK@houseoffriendship.org or call her to discuss at 519-742-8327 x 121.
