Holiday Hours at House of Friendship

Over the Christmas holidays, as staff enjoy some well-deserved time with loved ones and family, we will have reduced hours at several of our programs.

Here is a guide to what is open, and what is not, during the holidays:

House of Friendship Administrative Office, 51 Charles Street East, Kitchener – Open regular hours, 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday, with the exception of Dec. 25, 26 and Jan. 1. Call 519-742-8327 for assistance.

Addiction – Open regular hours, 8:30am to 4:30pm, with the exception of Dec. 25, 26 and Jan. 1. To access services outside of these hours, call Here 24/7 (1-844-437-3247).

Emergency Food Hampers, 807 Guelph Street, Kitchener –Open regular hours, 9:30am to 4pm, Monday to Friday, with the exception of Dec. 25, Dec. 26, and Jan. 1. For more information, call 519-742-8327 x 2.

Community Centres:

Chandler Mowat – The House of Friendship office will be Closed from Dec. 25 to Dec. 29.

Courtland Shelley – Closed from Dec. 25 to Jan. 8. Food distribution will not take place during this time. Please visit Emergency Food Hampers as an alternative.

Sunnydale Community Centre – Closed for the holidays from Friday, Dec. 22 at 1pm until Tuesday, Jan. 2 at 9:30 am, closing again on Friday, Jan. 5. There will be no food distribution on Dec. 28 or Jan. 4. Please visit Emergency Food Hampers as an alternative.

Kingsdale Community Centre – The House of Friendship office will be closed from Dec. 25 to Dec. 29.

Charles Street Men’s Shelter (63 Charles Street East):

The shelter will continue to be open for donations throughout the holidays for winter clothing such as scarfs, mitts, gloves, hats, winter jackets and new underwear and socks. Additional clothing items should be donated to Thrift on Kent (50 Kent Avenue), as they launder all clothing for House of Friendship and provide clothing to men in shelter free of charge.
