Cramer House
Cramer House is a program of House of Friendship established in 1985. Cramer House offers long term supportive housing in a group living setting for nine men who require social, emotional or mental health support. There are opportunities to develop and/or strength life-skills and personal goals.
Cramer House is affordable housing with rent geared to income. The home is conveniently located in downtown Kitchener close to bus routes and other services. Staff support residents as they share in the responsibilities of day-to-day living.

Eligibility Criteria

Adult male
-
Motivated, interested and able to participate in a cooperative living environment

Able to pay monthly shelter, food and support costs
-
An expressed need for social, emotional or mental health supports offered as part of the Cramer House program.

No current substance abuse or dependency.

Able to complete tasks of daily living with minimal guidance and support.
How to Apply

The applicant fills out an inquiry form. To obtain a form, ask your worker or contact House of Friendship. Upon receipt of the inquiry, a time will be set to meet with staff to hear more about Cramer House and ask questions about the program.

At the end of this interview, the applicant may ask to have his name added to the list of those waiting for assessment.

Once the applicant is on this list, an assessment will be started when a room becomes available. Men will be contacted from this list based on their date of application. This period of assessment covers several weeks, during which time the interested individual will be invited to come and participate in Cramer House activities and program at mutually agreed upon times.

At the end of this assessment period, the decision of whether or not to offer tenancy at Cramer House will be made.
