Bridges to Health - Day Treatment Program for Adult Women

Download Brochure

Bridges to Health is a new Day Treatment Program for adult women in Waterloo Region/Wellington who are concerned with their substance use. The misuse of alcohol and other drugs impacts negatively on the physical and mental health of women as well as their functioning and enjoyment of life in general. It is hoped, that in having this service, women will be able to access treatment earlier, and find hope, begin healing and improve their overall health status.

Program overview

Bridges to Health is located at 208 King St. S., Waterloo. However, the 2-week program runs from 9:30am to 3:30pm Monday to Friday in various locations across Waterloo Region/Wellington. A light lunch and breakfast are provided. Bridges to Health takes a strength-based approach, assisting women to build on personal qualities they already have, with the philosophy that health is made up of our mind, body and spirit. Group counselling, education groups, strategies for success and complementary therapies such as Reiki, massage, nutrition and mindfulness are part of the program. Women choose which complementary therapies they participate in based on their interest. Bridges to Health will also offer one day workshops to women in the community who have previously completed treatment and could benefit from ongoing support or follow-up services.

  • The first session will start November 17, 2008
  • There is no cost to participate in the program
  • Please note - regretfully, at this time, we are not able to meet with individuals without an appointment

This program is funded by the Waterloo/Wellington Local Health Integration Network.
