Alcontrol - Residential Service for Adult Women
Alcontrol is an 9-bed treatment program for adult women who are addicted to alcohol and/or other drugs.
The program is housed in a comfortable, older home, centrally located in Waterloo. It is a 3-12 week residential program.
A day program called Moving Forward provides specialized services for pregnant and parenting women.
There are no fees charged to participants in the program. Funding is provided by the Ontario Ministry of Health.

Residential Program
Admission Criteria
- Be an adult woman with a serious substance abuse problem.
- Be able to participate in a 3-12 week program.
- Be able to manage personal commitments and responsibilities.
- Be committed to making a significant lifestyle change.
- Have stable health status.
- Inquiries about the program are always welcome.
Program Overview
- The program is up to 12 weeks long depending on the participant's need.
- Participants are provided the opportunity to learn about themselves and others, change destructive behaviour and become more confident about their ability to leave without the use of alcohol and/or other drugs. Complete abstinence is required.
- Participants regularly review their goals and progress.
