Friendship Golf Tournament

Golfers Tee Up $25,000 To Help Serve Those In Need

The weather was perfect, the greens were in good shape, and the 15th anniversary Friendship Golf Tournament promised lots of laughter and friendly competition. The 149 golfers were not disappointed. After a delicious BBQ, they enjoyed competitions throughout the course and meeting The Schmo a.k.a. House of Friendship Executive Director, John Neufeld (seen above, fourth from left, meeting members of the Turenne clan).

Once they were finished on the greens, golfers headed in for a hearty Dinner, during which Event Chair, Bob Shantz was recognized for his years of generous leadership (seen above, right, receiving a momento of appreciation from Brian Hunsberger, former Development Director).

Golfers raised $25,000 for programs that extend the hand of friendship to our neighbours in need.

Many thanks to the Golf Tournament Committee, corporate sponsors, media sponsor, prize donors, golfers, the Grand Valley Golf and Country Club, and all those who assisted to make this event such a success. Since it was started in 1996, the tournament has raised $275,000. Tournament sponsors are listed below. We thank them for their vision, support and generosity.

See you next year on Wednesday July 13, 2011!
