Annual Meeting and Report

House of Friendship's 69th Annual Meeting was held on Thursday, June 19, 2008 at Rockway Mennonite Church, 32 Weber St., W., Kitchener (in the Zion United Church building).

The business meeting began at 6:45 p.m. In the financial report a surplus of $73,253 was reported for the 2007-2008 fiscal year. The Board of Directors for the coming year was elected. Approximately 50 people attended.

The business meeting was followed by a Strawberry Social at 7:30 p.m. Those attending enjoyed delicious fresh strawberries donated by Herrle's Country Farm Market. A program followed at 8:00 p.m. The guest speaker was Greg DeGroot-Maggetti, Poverty Adocate with Mennonite Central Committee (Ontario) who spoke about How to Reduce Poverty in our Community: Poverty Reduction Strategies.
